As she goes to shoot Bess with a silver bullet, Sam manages to extend his very long legs, and kick the gun out of her hand. Now in the barn, he wrestles with Joba, and stabs him.

Sam goes to talk to Garth and Bess, only to find their apartment has been wrecked. Fizzles had been kidnapped by a travelling puppet show. It seems Garth met a lovely woman called Bess and got married. And that hole in the pit of your stomach, you never fill it — ever.
